MARIAN (MIRI) RODGERS ROSENFELD    

Award-winning Israeli-American artist Miri Rosenfeld
(1952-1998),studied etching, graphic design, printing, calligraphy, air-brush, watercolor, lithography oil painting, and photography at Bezalel Art Academy  Jerusalem and with the leading Israeli artists such as Aharon April, Derek Stein, David Gerstein, Dede Ben Shaul, Jan Reichwarger, and Linda Neesvisky.
Miri exhibited her work in juried shows in the US and in Israel and won the Graphic Award in the West Hartford,CT juried show 1990,and a prize in the National Israeli Artists Competition tel aviv.Her one-woman shows ranged from 1978-1997 in US and Israel including the Larome Hotel,King David Hotels,Jerusalems Artists House,Arta Gallery and Y.M.C.A. Jerusalem.
Miris artwork has been published in "Florida International Magazine-september 2001,book illustration for Danny Levy Publishing House,Lord Kitsch Graphics designs,and materials for  "Maagan"-The Jerusalem Support Center for Those Affected by Cancer,being created in her memory by her friends and family.
Her work comprises of Photography,etchings,graphics,watercolor monoprints,ceramics and portraiture.She experimented with delicate pastel watercolors,and her last works featured bright dramatic colors.Her prolific paintings are currently exhibited in many personal collections of her friends familly and different galleries around the world as well as Hadassah Hospital Jerusalem,Maaleh Efraim field school,Nataf Nursery school,Gal Productions news company jerusalem.An exhibit of Miris works will be featured in Sarasota Florida and in Jerusalem in 2004.
Miri arrived in israel at the age of 18 and lived there for 38 years,married to Moshe Rosenfeld since 1973,raised 3 sons now ages 21-28.Her oldest son,Oren,is an accomplished photographer in Jerusalem.Miri lived in Jerusalem, and pioneered in development towns,sometimes under difficult conditions,but always studied art,painted and workedfull time for  the King David Hotel,and for Super studio in Jerusalem.
Her untimely passing has created a deep loss for her family,identical twin sister and her many friends,she was a special,warm,sweet,creative,gentle spirit"A rose of Sharon,brave and generous.Prints of her artwork and her twin Gail`s,are being sold to raise funds for "Maagan" a cancer wellness center in Jerusalem in Miri`s memory,"so nobody will have to face cancer alone".
